What Is Xeomin?
Xeomin is a prescription injection that contains a highly purified form of botulinum toxin type A, the same active ingredient that’s in Botox. When professionally injected at Jiva Med Spa, Xeomin temporarily paralyzes the muscle movements that cause frown lines.
Common side effects of Xeomin include headache, dry mouth, discomfort or pain at the injection site, tiredness, neck pain, muscle weakness, and eye problems. Tell your doctor right away if you get wheezing or asthma symptoms, or if you get dizzy or faint.
Since Xeomin is only FDA-approved for use on frown lines between the eyebrows – AKA “glabellar lines” or “eleven lines” – the treatment will not alter the rest of your face. That said, it can also be used “off-label” to treat crow’s feet and forehead lines, just like Botox.
